The "Sticki Roll" Messaging Strategy (It's Fun to Read, Fun to Write)

 

“Mommy, it’s a Sticki Roll!!!!!!” 

My daughter Ella (5) and I are doing a little spring break shopping at Target when I hear this across the aisle.

"Oh-my-gosh Oh-my-gosh Oh-my-gosh Oh-my-gosh Oh-my-gosh!!!” 

She squeals, holding up a small purple cylinder looking a lot like Rafiki holding up Simba in the beginning of The Lion King.

For the uninitiated, Sticki Rolls are all the rage (among little girls lol). 

It’s a cute, beaded bracelet. 

A few of the “beads” are tiny cylindrical rolls of sparkly metallic stickers.  

The stickers are perforated and come apart with a little tug. 

The idea is to place the sticker in its sticker book or trade with your friends. 

See?

I must admit, the little girl inside of me was intrigued. 

(Sidenote, I really should do some affiliate marketing for these products I end up talking about. Leaving $$ on the table!)

I would have LOVED this as a child. 

It combines collectibility (makes you want more more more), tradability (social aspect), and trendy fashion (form of self-love) all into one!

And this adorably fun combination is what made Sticki Rolls go mega viral, generating over a billion organic views and becoming the 2025 Toy of the Year finalist. 

Turns out, this "Sticki Roll strategy" is also how you can differentiate yourself from the sea of other online entrepreneurs.

I call it, “Your Magic 3”.  

Your Magic 3 are 3 different things about you – your skills, your passions, and a wild card – and you mash them all together. 

For example, my very own Magic 3 are:

🪶 Copywriting (written sales)

👸 Storytelling (mostly of my kids)

The combination of 3 unrelated pieces allows you to create a brand and messaging style that is uniquely you, fun to read, and fun for YOU to talk about. 

In other words, you become un-copy-able.

I’ll bet a million Sticki Rolls that no one in the world is talking about my daughter’s Target trip AND these beaded bracelets AND tying it back to a messaging strategy. 

It’s just me. 

And because of that, you’ll remember it.

When you build from your own weird combination, you stop sounding like everyone else.
