“‘You’re being silly...”
“You need to stop this.”
“You look really dumb.”
OMG, ENOUGH!
Does your brain talk to you like this 👆?
Because here I am, at the local park…
Yes, there’s a jungle gym…
Yes, there are kids playing…
And yes, I’m doing squats, lunges, and jumping jacks for all the world to see.
The reason is, I'm in SoCal visiting family.
I’m an out-of-towner with no gym, so I’m making the best of my situation.
But Jeez Louise!
My brain WOULD NOT SHUT UP with all the criticism.
(I mean, c’mon, there’s a workout track. It’s FINE to exercise here!)
“Welp, I’m definitely turning THIS into an email…”
It’s funny...
These days, whenever I have any observations (annoying or innocuous), I know how to instantly turn them into content for my weekly email.
Kind of on autopilot 🤔
But it wasn’t always like this.
I had all the typical problems – not knowing what to write, believing that what I’m writing is not worthwhile, and thinking that whatever I write, I need to rewrite to make it “better”.
These problems kind of went away once I fully committed to these storytelling emails.
Because you can tell a long story.
A short story.
And recently, I learned that my own internal dialogue can be a full-blown story (which is exactly what I’m doing in this email).
So, if you think you don’t have stories (which I don’t believe), no one can argue that everyone has internal dialogue.
All you need then is a way to segue the story (or internal dialogue) to the sell.
And if you’ve been paying attention, I literally do this in every single email.
So feel free to study them if you have trouble with segues.
But if you want more, I can also help with that.
Enter my storytelling guide.
It includes 6 examples of me spinning the SAME STORY to sell a variety of services including…
-Therapy
-Business Coaching
-Copywriting
-Design
-Charcuterie Board Services
-Even Lawn Care!
These will show you that ANY STORY can be turned into a gentle pitch to ANY OFFER, no matter what they are.
This also makes writing your weekly newsletter so much more fun.
So check it out. It’s very affordable.
And before I go, I guess I should thank my brain because even though it’s always criticizing me, it can also turn those criticisms into original content every single week.
So thank you, brain.
Cin🙂
