"Everything in moderation!"
I used to live and breathe by that phrase, especially when it came to my health.
But surprise, surprise, was I getting into better shape?
Nope.
Was I feeling stronger or more energized.
Nah ah.
Why?
Because...what the heck is moderation?
Like, seriously.
What is it?
Is one Häagen-Dazs bar after lunch everyday considered "moderation"?
How about 1 Chomps, 1 bowl of white rice, one egg, and one slice of a Cosmic Crisp apple with nut butter? That seems okay, right?
Well, to some, yes.
To others, no.
You see, "moderation" is vague. It shifts and gives you wiggle room, which sounds fantastic until you realize you’ve wiggled your way out of results.
Honestly, I only started getting any sort of results when I tracked what I was eating through my FoodNoms app, trained Jiu Jitsu at least 3 times a week (yes, I'm currently a 1-stripe blue belt), and started weight training.
The same thing happens in messaging.
ChatGPT can generate beautifully phrased, totally palatable, wonderfully "moderate" language.
It sounds SO GOOD until you read it, and you're like,
-->"Hm, this beautiful sentence is saying a whole lotta nuthin'!"
Unfortunately, ChatGPT (as of today in June of 2025) is unable to to give you specifics that are likely to resonate with you and your audience.
Specificity leads to resonating.
And when the message resonates, that is what leads people to action.
So whether you’re writing about food, fitness, or your own offer, don’t settle for "moderation".
Be specific.
